Our play-to-learn music classes are combined with our Joy-Filled Beginnings technique. Introducing new concepts to children with joy fosters the desire to learn more.
Our curriculum specializes on infancy to six years. We combine auditory, visual and kinaesthetic learning methods, and include a variety of music styles from Classical to Jazz.
We introduce a variety of meters and keys to enhance music appreciation and reveal the diversity in music. Our classes are inclusive and designed to encourage joy centred activities, compassion, gratitude, patience, creativity, individuality and more.

Founder
Suzanne Brown, aka Suzie Sunshine, is the creator of the Suzie Sunshine Program. With over 30 years of teaching and performing across the US and Canada, she brings music to life for children through engaging classes and her award-winning books on Famous Classical Composers. Her mission is simple: to inspire joy, inclusivity, and a love of music in every child.
Team Leader Peel
Patricia, also known as Happy Patty, has been a dedicated member of the Suzie Sunshine Program since 2019. With over 30 years of teaching experience in Colombia and Canada, including work as a Montessori assistant, she brings a lifelong love of music to her students. A singer for more than 40 years, Patricia has performed at venues across North America and with the cover band The Groove Divas. She is passionate about sharing the joy of music with children everywhere.
Halton/Peel
Nadya, also known as Nana Ray, is a proud member of the Suzie Sunshine Program. A music theorist and composer with a master’s degree in music pedagogy, she has over 17 years of experience in music education. For the past decade, she has focused on teaching preschool children, fostering social, emotional, and cognitive growth through music. Nadya is passionate about filling children’s hearts with happiness and love through joyful music learning.
Kitchener/Waterloo
Yasmeen, also known as Jazzy Yas, is a proud member of the Suzie Sunshine Program. She has been singing since grade 4 and holds a Grade 8 RCM certificate as well as an Honours Bachelor of Music. Trained in opera, pop vocal technique, and musical theatre, Yasmeen also has a strong background in music history, theory, and lyric diction. She has performed in numerous musicals and operas, including Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park, and is excited to share her love of music with children everywhere.
Toronto
Kelsey, also known as Kelsey Sparkles, is the newest member of the Suzie Sunshine Program. A singer-songwriter with over 10 years of experience, she loves all styles of music from pop and soul to rock. Her songs have been played on the radio, and she has performed with artists like Daniel Caesar and Charlotte Day Wilson. Kelsey is passionate about helping kids find their musical voice and express themselves with confidence, bringing a sprinkle of sparkle to every class.
Durham
Rae, also known as Rainbow Rae, is the newest member of the Suzie Sunshine Program. With over 15 years of experience in music education, Rae brings color, creativity, and rhythm into every classroom. Classically trained, Rae blends singing, movement, and musical play to help children explore the joy of sound. Passionate about making music heartfelt and fun, Rae creates a space where every child shines bright.
Semester ONE introduces the sights and sounds of some of the Great Composers from the Baroque Era: Bach, Scarlatti and Handel, found in our book, “Baroque with Joy”. We teach rhythm, pitch, tonality, singing, and basic
music principles using songs from our “Jumping with Joy” CD. Sunshine’s value songs like “The Two Word Sentence,” reminding children the importance of saying Thank You and more.
Semester TWO introduces the sights and sounds of some of the Great Composers from the Classical Era: Haydn, Mozart & Rossini, found in our book “Classical with Joy”. We continue building with rhythm, pitch, tonality, singing,
Semester THREE introduces the sights and sounds of some of the Great Composers from the Romantic Era: Beethoven, Chopin and Dvorak, found in our book, “Romantic with Joy”. We continue working on rhythm, pitch, tonality, singing, and basic music principles using songs from our “Modes & Meters” CD. This CD includes music centred around music terms and a wider variety of time signatures and modes.All of our classes foster participation through the use of several child-friendly musical instruments, a variety of music styles and age appropriate music games. Whether in person, on ZOOM or with our pre-recorded online program; We will keep your children up, moving and learning with JOY principles.
Semester FOUR introduces the sights and sounds of some of the great women composers throughout time, such as Hildegard von Bingen, Fanny Mendelssohn, Clara Schumann and Lili Boulanger, found in our book, “Maestra with Joy.” We continue to build on the previous skills and concepts while introducing new songs, all about Canada. Every province and territory is represented in our new “Canada for Kids” CD.
Semester five, coming in 2025, will include our book “Families of the Orchestra.” We will introduce children to the sights and sounds of the instruments played in an orchestra.
Our CD “Children of the Dance” will take us on a journey around the world with a variety of dances. The songs will teach them not only about the dance but the country it came from in a fun and engaging way.
